Villa Bella Sirena in Valledoria is your ideal getaway. To ensure a stress-free start to your trip, we’ve put together a guide on the easiest way to get here from the airports in Alghero and Olbia, whether you’re traveling with a stroller or a surfboard on the roof.
AIRPORTS AND TRANSPORTATION: Fast and Stress-Free
From Alghero Airport (AHO) – The Closest Gateway to Us
Distance: approx. 75 km | Travel time: 1 hr 10 min.
For families: The drive along the SP90 coastal highway is smooth, and you’ll avoid steep mountain switchbacks a relief especially for kids who tend to get car sick.
For surfers: The route passes right by the legendary spots in Porto Torres and Marritza. If conditions are good, you can catch your first session on the way here.
From Olbia Airport (OLB) – The Gateway from the Northeast
Distance: approx. 95 km | Time: 1 hr. 30 min.
For families: The modern SS729 expressway is ideal for a quick transfer without getting lost.
For surfers: On the way, you’ll pass through the Gallura region; if you have time, take a detour to Isola Rossa, one of the best surf spots in the area, just 20 minutes from our villa.
CAR RENTAL – the Key to Freedom in Sardinia
For the full Sardinia vacation experience, we highly recommend renting a car. Villa Bella Sirena offers free parking, so your car will be safe.
Why rent a car? Public transportation on the island is limited. A car will allow you to visit hidden beaches like La Marinedda, historic Castelsardo, or the Grotta di Nettuno cave without any restrictions.
Where to rent a car? We recommend booking in advance directly at the airport through trusted companies such as Hertz, Avis, Sicily by Car, or Europcar.
Our tip: During the summer season, car rental availability is limited; book your vehicle at least 2 months in advance.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
If you decide not to travel by car, you can use the regional bus network.
ARST buses: The main transport provider on the island. The bus stop in Valledoria connects the town with Sassari, Alghero, and the surrounding beaches. Purchase tickets in advance via the DropTicket app or at local retailers (Tabacchi).
Trains: The train service (Trenitalia) terminates in Sassari. From there, you’ll need to continue to Valledoria by bus.
